I just took delivery of my new Eastman 4/4 832, next to it is my Eastman 6/4 836. Chuck Kerrigan picked it out for me and did he pick out a great horn. May be the best tuba I've ever played in my life, case closed! It is the perfect compliment to my 6/4 tuba as the pitch is consistent between the two horns. Sound, pitch and response are soooo consistent and the Eastman workmanship is fantastic. I can't say enough good things about both horns and I feel blessed to have such great instruments to do my job in the orchestra. Thanks Chuck, Ryan and Meagan. If you have any questions, please feel free to personal message me. Click on pic to enlarge.

It appears to be a nice sized, though fairly compact, horn. Congrats!

The 832 is lighter in weight(lighter/thinner gauge of brass), the bell does not flare out as much(1" smaller). Uses the same valve setup as the 6/4 836 (York style/Yamahayork) but still retains the .689 bore. It retains the bugle that Matt Walters designed. There are differences in the lead pipe/receiver too. Bort feel free to contact me via PM(I'll give you my phone# so you can call me) and I'd be more than happy to speak directly.

I'm now totally curious about what would happen if you put that .689 valve cluster on the 836 body....

For price, I'd contact Matt Walters at Dillon music.
