i have heard that it is bad to play on raw brass just because it can make you sick...

how much truth is there?

i know a few people that play on raw brass horns and mouthpieces, so it cant be too bad, what are the facts though??

My skin gets very irritated by raw brass, especially in the summer.

That said, I DO own a raw brass instrument because the model I wanted just can't be found with decent original lacquer and I'm too cheap to pay for a relacquer job. I just cover the contact points.
