I've only played the 25 and even then experience was limited to one or two examples. I did own a 32.

I'll echo what Bloke said. The MW 4/4-ish rotary valve tubas seem to be overall good horns. Definitely worth trying out given the opportunity.

A good 20 is an excellent horn indeed. The 25 I bought in the early '70's was built extremely well and played well, but was a bit stuffy and inflexible. The newer models of the 25 that I've tried play better.

I had a 20. Was a very nice playing horn. Built like a tank. It was a toss up as to keep it or the Miraphone 186. I just preferred the ergonomics of the 186 so it won out. As to a Chinese or older German horn I would always go for the used German horn. Dan Schultz usually has 186's he's gone through for reasonable prices. Can't go wrong there. :tuba:
