I won't tell or vote. But I'm happy it worked out for you!

That is as good as tuba playing in a German Band ever is! Well Done!

I'm outing myself as a tuba player here, and not only a tuba player, but one who truly enjoys polka gigs, but there's a real art to doing these bass lines justice. And it's being done here as well as I've ever heard it. Picking the right moments to embellish. Clean articulations. Slightly more emphasis in all the right places. I.e., keeping it supportive but interesting. And sets a great foundation for the rest of the band. Well done.

Sounds sweet. I just started playing in a German band and am intrigued by that "Germanic Tuba Sound."

In the Musikly, Musikly Polka video, I can see just enough right hand to note F tuba fingerings being deployed...

Whatever it is, I enjoyed hearing it.

Doc wrote:Thanks for the nice comments. We do some tunes that lend themselves to busier, more agile bass lines, but I’ll have to record some on the next job.

On Sunday, I played with a more traditional style German brass band. Depending on the event, we will play some Sousa and other American marches, and we always play Them Basses. I figured it was a good opportunity to see how much this instrument could take, so I put down the hammer. She held together pretty well without it sounding completely tasteless (they could barely hear the tubas in the tent, so no harm done with this experiment):

Them Basses

Have you tried "Big Joe, The Tuba"?

Sounds very B&S F Tuba-like
