it's real
Woodwind and Brasswind has had a store in Paris for a few years now. They used to even have a store in NYC but since Bamber can't micro-manage in two places at once the NYC store closed. The Paris store has someone else involved in a partnership if I remember correctly.
Though, you have to keep something in mind when you look at all the companies that look like they are part of Woodwind and Brasswind. WAB Paris, WAB South Bend, Lyons Music, what used to be BandNow, possibly Music123 are all sub companies of a parent organization called Dennis Bamber Inc. This way if any one of the companies does anything stupid, or they fail, all of the other companies are protected. It's also the way around the sales tax issue. Even though WAB had a store in NYC, NY residents didn't have to pay sales tax when they ordered from South Bend and had it shipped. Since the NY store was controled by DBI, the effect was that WAB South Bend and WAB NY were different companies.
It's amazing what you can do when you know your way around the tax laws!
