Hah! Once again, Easy-Off comes to the rescue! Heat does help the process, so keep it as warm as possible.
Post a photo of the finished product when you get a chance--Yorks are always interesting.

Without rubber gloves, there was also a good bit of success cleaning the skin off his fingers. Hope he had gloves.
