I'm playing at my amateur-ish university orchestra, and they were organizing ensembles. we had a brass quintet last semester, but nobody has time anymore and this semester only me and the trombonist stuck to it.

so... does anyone has any ideas for a piece for a tuba-trombone duet? I play a BBb by the way.

There is a set of 8 Southern Jazz Duets for tenor and bass bone by Wilbourne, but the bass part is probably playable on a tuba. They are a lot of fun, and maybe a little irreverant. Titles like "Hey, Reb, Pass the Biscuits", and so on.

And of course there's the wickedly difficult Devil's Waltz, again for tenor and bass, but might work for tuba, probably an F because of the high range.

Also, you could just do some walking bass and jazz solo type stuff, improvised and freeform. The bone could even swap out playing the bass line so the tuber could get some solo time. That kind of stuff is cool in recitals.
