a good mouthpiece for projection and centered tone is the R&S TUHHII. it has the rim and cup of the schilke helleberg II, which is similar to the conn heleberg. unfortunately, it is really heavy. generally speaking, mouthpieces with a thin, flat rim help to produce a clear, centered tone.

to practice projecting your sound, find a visual goal far in the distance, aim your sound at it while looking at it. important for this exercise is the visual connection to your goal while playing.
