Would appreciate suggestions on who can make an accurate copy of a very old mouthpiece I have. It has a funnel cup inside a liberty-bell-shaped outer cup and may have been made by Buescher in the 20s or 30s. It gets a very sweet sound and is my favorite. I've never seen another one like it, and it has gotten pretty beat up from loaning it to students over the last 45 years.
I don't think it's a candidate for restoration, as about a quarter inch of the shank is cut off, and was lathed down to fit in a small receiver on the Meinl-Weston I used to have. I would like it to have an American shank. Thanks in advance.

New can for sure make a fine mouthpiece and has copied a couple of mouthpieces for us tuba players, including my Conn 1 = James R New C-1. You might end up getting a batch, which allows him to make them a lot more economically per unit.

Ivan Giddings. I got two custom mouthpieces from him, very good stuff. He also offer replication service.

I'm playing on an old buescher 67 lately it's a deep funnel and sounds very different than my Conn 1 or any of my Dillons. If you get a copy, let me know. I might be interested in one myself.

Matt Frost advertises a shank rebuild service. Perhaps you would rather restore your old piece? He did some excellent modification work for me a while ago (trumpet mouthpieces, though).
It sounds like you would need some more major work than what his shank rebuild usually would entail but Mr Frost is quite clever and skilled at mouthpiece work.
Never hurts to ask. You can also see some photos of his work posted on his Facebook page.

Thanks, everyone. I have been in contact with several of your suggestions and will follow through. It was supposed to have been done by a local technician but turned into a project that isn't going to happen. I sometimes forget my own rule, "when it sounds too good to be true, it always is".
