Call the station where the shipment originated and see how it was routed. Actually... I'm guessing the due to the Thanksgiving holidays... the package just never made it's connections due to bus passenger loading.

I sent a horn to Colorado a couple of weeks ago that took about ten days to get from Evansville, Indiana to the destination because the obvious transfer at St Louis was continually too full and it finally routed through Albequerque.

Only the shadow knows about Greyhound shipping but I've not had them actually lose or damage a shipment in twenty years.

Greyhound lost one of my horns in transit. It was never found and they offered $100 for compensation.

I hope you have insurance.

Not sure about you all, but the Minneapolis Greyhound station is impossible to call on the phone. Their listed number only goes to an automated system, and you never get a person.

Even showing up at the terminal, it's hard to find people. Nobody at the desk, and nobody in the back. Last time I was there, I had to pretend like I was lost and Wales in an open door way in the back. Once I was in, the guy who works in the shipping/luggage desk was very nice, and easy to work with. But yeah... Not a lot of confidence about the whole operation.

Luckily, a gigantic cardboard box, heavy, and with the living sh!t taped out of it... Not an easy or attractive target for thieves. Not to mention, thousands of styrofoam peanuts to leave behind.

Ian... Hang in there. What was it, and where was it to/from? It's a busy time of year with full buses. Hope it gets there soon!

Nice thing for me (which sorry, doesn't help you), is that the station called me once, so now I have the direct number. :)

Well.... I shipped a tuba yesterday via Greyhound. While at the terminal I learned that the agent I've been working with for nearly forty years is 'packing it in' and the 24th is his last day. He's been an independent agent for some time and relied on ticket sales for his livelihood. Greyhound has gone to web-based ticket sales... which has cut his commissions to nearly nothing. He's moving to another city to become a partner in a house rebuilding team. This is a sad day for me.

We discussed now the face of Greyhound is changing. The company has been for sale for several months and does not currently seem to have any serious suitors.

I have oftentimes thought exactly the same thing - they had the entire infrastructure already in place. All they needed was someone with vision for the future.....
