Not sure about the Eastman piston f but I see that Dillons Music is stocking both models of the Shires euphonium.

Any news on this oh so secret horn?

With the release of the John Packer F, I’m getting more tempted by the hour to switch back to a piston bass tuba.

I played one at least six months ago. I didn't have much time with it, but boy was it easy to play. With a rotary F, you have learn how to play it. This thing was like a sports car that went exactly where you pointed it. I didn't check the intonation, but it made me wonder why anyone would play a rotary F. There was simply no comparison between the rotary F that Eastman had and that piston horn--at least not for me.
Keep playing, because expression is life.
