I haven't noticed anything with it, but I've been on it for a while. I know some other players who were on it without issue.

I also haven't ever really noticed much effect from using it though. I take it for allergic rhinitis.

I've taken it for years for asthma, and haven't noticed any issues in my playing from it.

Don't know if it's the same but I take OTC Flonase and it hasn't caused any problems

Maybe the singulair is relaxing your wind spaces, so it takes more effort to fill them up?

I haven't any experience with Singulair, but had been hooked on Afrin nose spray for many years. I got a simple surgical solution from an ENT doctor at my local VA clinic. She did a procedure to reduce the size of my nasal turbinates. The out patient surgery was over in 25 minutes and produced wonderful breathing when healed ten days later. No more Afrin addiction. No more Claritin, or Flonase, or any antihistamine.

Coblation? I've got overgrown turbinates, and have been contemplating it for a year or so. It really would be nice to breathe more easily.

I've been taking it about 5 years and have not noticed any ill effects. YMMV, of course.

I'm watching this with interest. I have had asthma for about 20 years. I take Singular, flonaise (prescription), pro air inhaler and Qvar, another inhaler. I have had constant problems with rhinusitis (?) and low air capacity. I have played a 3/4 BBb since I started playing tuba six years ago. I recently started using a 4/4 horn (1241) and am having a very hard time filling it with air. The guy sitting next to me also has a 1241 but he can get a huge sound out but mine is barely adequate. It's not the horn. Nothing wrong with the horn. I have a Helleberg MP like a bazillion other guys. I'm not putting enough air in. I've had some other problems with the nose this winter and it has knocked everything higgley-piggely and I saw the doc on Tues and will see her again this coming Tues and have put in for an authorization for an ENT to have a look at my schnozzola and attendant cavities and orifaces.

I haven't used a teacher so, after I have things checked out medically, I might find a Real Tuba Teacher and take a few lessons in breathing.

I would look up the Arnold Jacobs breathing exercises to see if you can learn to better manage the air that you do have. He was the master, and players of any instrument can benefit.

The only downside is that a lot of them ask you to breathe through your nose at times, and I don't have the best nasal air flow most of the time, due to chronic allergic rhinitis.

Chronic allergic rhinitis is why I was prescribed this, and I've noticed that I have fewer breathing issues at the same time. After all, it was originally an asthma medication.
