New Alexander Tubas

I was wondering if there are any locations, in the midwestern United States where I would be able to test new Alexander F tubas (Model 155 preferably). Are there any locations or would I have to place an order through a dealer to get just one horn from Germany?

As I understand it, many people treasure their Alex Fs. Personally, I've grown quite fond while playing on one in my schooling and was wondering how I could get my hands on one.

If there are any (and that’s a big “if”) new Alexanders in stock at all in the United States, they will be at Horn Guys in California.

They are made in very limited numbers to order. Finding a new one in dealer stock anywhere will be extremely rare, let alone in the midwestern US. If you REALLY want to try one, and likely buy one, arranging a shop visit in Germany with Alexander is probably your best bet. But don’t just show up...they don’t just keep a bunch of tubas regularly sitting around waiting for folks to walk in the door...communicate with them in advance if you’re serious about paying them a visit.

Lee Stofer has a used Alexander 155 F tuba listed on his website.

Like stated earlier they are made to order. When I lived in Wiesbaden Germany I went to Alexander a few times across the river in Mainz. Each time there was a different array of horns to try, all being a customer ordered horn. The only exception was a double tuba and some other older tubas around the building.
