US Army Band Tuba Euphonium Workshop Access Pass

Just an FYI.

If you fill out the request for a temporary pass, it only asks for the event date, not the start/end dates. Use the end date in not the start date!

Today I got my pass, I put in Feb 5th, 2020, for the event date. The pass is good through Feb 6th. Leaving me a few days short.

I just submitted a second request. Since the pass they issue is good from the issue date until the date specified, I put the event date as Feb 9th, just to make sure I can get in every day of the workshop.

A quick tour of the internet leads to the base access request:
http://www.usarmyband.com/tuba ->
https://www.eventbrite.com/e/2020-tuba- ... 7858939183 (for registration) ->
https://pass.aie.army.mil/jbmhh/ (to request a temporary pass to get on base)

I hope this helps.

George

If memory serves, the pass you get when you go to the trailer on the first visit is what you show each time you visit the base.

As i understand it - and different bases may have slightly different procedures - you can do it that way but don't need to.

Your pass is actually in a database, once you've either applied in advance or gone to the trailer. The guard doesn't need to see a paper pass, he/she just scans your ID and it finds you. At least that's how it works at most places.

Suppose you got a paper pass. And you did a crime after that. When the guard scans, he'll see that you're in the system but are not permitted on post.

You need to visit the trailer on Ft. Myer before you are allowed on the base.

The process has been changing over the last few years. 5-10 years ago, my car was searched/inspected every time I entered the base.

The next evolution of the security process involved an vehicle search, then they sent you to the security office in a building on base. There they did a background check, then issued a pass that you could use to get on base.

Then there was the trailer, on the perimeter of the base. Form, background check, pass ...

This year I filled out an online application for a pass (I did this Saturday), today I received a pass good through Feb 6th (the day after the date I put in for the event date on that form). This pass has my photo, bar code, and a QR code. The photo must be from last year's visit. It's not the photo on my drivers license, and they didn't ask for a photo on the form, and my computer doesn't have a camera....

Here are the instructions that came in the email:
Hi George,

Your pass is below. You may either present your phone to the guard for scanning, or you may print the pass at your convenience.
It looks like I can skip my Wednesday afternoon visit to the base this year, and just go straight to the concert that evening.

If you fill out the online application. They only ask for ONE date. The pass they issue is good through that date. So if you want to go to any events through Saturday, Feb 8th, I'd suggest putting in the 8th or the 9th as the event date. I'm waiting on a second pass, since the one I received say: VALID THROUGH: 2020Feb06.
