I have a Wessex F cimbasso and want to get as close to a jazz bass trombone sound as possible. Will using a Parduba double cup contribute to that end? Will it mess up my normal tuba chops?
An acquaintance has a Parduba 73 that he's going to let me try out on my cimbasso. But that's in two weeks time, so I'm looking for any input up front. Thanks.

It would seem to me that something more like a trombone mouthpiece, like a Bach 25, may do more to get the tone you're after. Also, during a mouthpiece safari some years ago, I played a Griego. They are more of a trombone mouthpiece maker, and I distinctly remember that the Griego I played, probably a 325D or 325XD, made my Miraphone (I hadn't done the bell swap yet to turn it into my "Bessophone") sound more trombone-y.
