NEW tuba piece - "Allegro Sardonicus"

I'm in the LA area and am about to finish a piece for solo tuba with wind ensemble accompaniment. It's a single movement piece called "Allegro Sardonicus", making use of only diminished chords and the octatonic scales with a Stravinskian touch to it. It's more of a tuba feature rather than a concertino or a sonata. I made use of every voice in the wind ensemble to enhance the character of the piece and the solo part so it won't have its typical "accompaniment part" or doubling with other instruments unless I'm doing it for coloristic purposes.

The performance will be on May 21st, Friday night at 7:00 p.m. Location is at Biola University in La Mirada, California. I will put directions a week later for those that are interested in hearing the premier of "Allegro Sardonicus" (unless you want to check it on Yahoo! or something).

The solo will be performed by Chuck Koontz and the wind ensemble is the Biola Symphonic Winds. Hope to see you all in 2 weeks.

Perhaps, with Chucks blessing, you could post an audio bit after the performance(if you are recording)

It's always great to hear new tuba music!!!
