Because I like uncommon things... let's make a list of uncommon (in the US) tuba mouthpiece brands. Please add to the list if you can think of anything else! Some of these might be less uncommon than others... but hoping we can make a list of stuff that many of us might not already know about.

Updating the list as we go along. Yes, "uncommon" is a bit subjective, but it's my list!

So many more US-based makers than I remembered. Will be interesting to hear what other foreign ones exist, too.

If memory serves, because it has been years since I saw one, I think the only markings are the "BB" on the outside of the cup. Also, look very carefully at the throat, inside and out; there may be a tell-tale slight ring that shows the shank is soldered to the cup. As I recall, the rim was a little more "squarish" in profile compared to a Bach rim. And under the light, the rhodium plating has a little bit different tint than silver plating, although I can't recall which shade in which direction.

Ok, Herr Jung wins the prize for most detailed and plentiful measurements.

I've owned both Marzan mouthpieces at one point or another. That small one though... Jeez, where could you possibly use it?

The big Marzan was pretty much the same as the Willson WT1 or WT2 (I forget). I had an WT2, and it was ok, but the shank seemed unusually long.

I stumbled upon one of the K & G artists for tuba (at least he was at the time, things do change) in a Facebook video playing "Gabriel's Oboe" - it was in a cathedral and it was on (presuming here) a compensating Eb. Such a gorgeous sound.
