I just had my new (old) Melton Spezial Cc Tuba professional cleaned.
What a difference!
I have no idea when that was last done before my ownership.
I have noticed a positive impact on some of the earlier tuning issues - especially on the staff G which was rather flat before the cleaning.
Is that imagination or could there be something about it?
Can a professionel cleaning fix tunings issues?

Cleaning on its own... Maybe?
More likely is that the rotors were out of alignment. The simple act of taking it all apart and putting it back together (plus new bumpers) makes a lot of difference. Glad it worked out so well!

And a thorough cleaning can also uncover pinholes in tubing or joints, leaky slides and water keys, and other items as well as misaligned valves that can also cause intonation issues.
