Finale 2003 Question

I'm sure there's a Finale message board, but I'm stuck and figured someone here would know the answer.
I'm transposing a piece from BC to TC, scanned it and created a file using SmartScore Lite. Everything goes normally but it comes out 3 measures per line when the original is mostly 5 measures per line.
How do I set the layout to 5 measures per line?
I've hunted thru the help, I've tried reducing the minimum measure width to 0.5 inches, I tried starting a new file (without SmartScore) and the default if always 3 measures per line....
Thanks in advance,
Bob

Page layout tool... format to 5 measures per line... or shift and update layout (edit menu) and let it figure out line breaks on its own.
PM me if you have any more questions (about this or other Fianle stuff)

Use the Mass Mover tool and Select All (control A for PC, or Edit Menu- Select All). Then select Fit Music under the Mass Mover menu (or control M). Click on "Lock Layout.." and enter 5 for the number of measures. Hit Enter and you should be fine.

Thanks!
It doesn't/didn't work from the mass edit tool, nothing happens. But, from the page layout tool it worked.
Thanks again.

The wierd thing, it reverts to 3 measures per line even with a blank default file. I believe it has nothing to do with the scan and smartscore.
Thanks for the link.

The Mass Edit thing should work. Select Mass Edit, hit ctrl+M, and specify five measures per system. And make sure "whole document" is selected. That should do the trick. The MIDIscan feature is something that I usually don't use with all of its problems; it's usually better to just copy it into the program. Also, look up Mass Edit in the PDF file manual.
The Finale forum is great. I learned a huge amount in the last year. Read other threads to learn more about the program.
