Cerveny Piston CC CB6991

Post by Polar Brass »

Hi guys,
for my shop, I have bought some Cerveny tubas from just before Amati-Denak - Cerveny went bankruptcy. One of them is the quite rare piston CC-Tuba CB6991.
Have some of you any experiences/opinions on this tuba?

All the best

Petter

I didn’t even know this existed. Interesting.

So, converted to inches the specs would be:

Bore: .689" to .728"
Bell: 17.7"

How tall is the tuba? I know nothing about that model, but it looks nice. Kinda like a slightly scaled down Cerveny version of the Yamaha YCB 822. You should get a tuba player there to test it out and report on it

Oh...that thing. Wish they would have made the improvements I suggested about 15-20 years ago. Anybody only 5 feet tall or shorter will love that low leadpipe.

Hi Matt, maybe they have done it? I am 186cm /6,1 feet and the tuba feels very comfortable.

I'll be...it looks like they did raise the leadpipe. It used to go about straight out and about parallel across the bell. Cool. Next, some of the slide length needed to be shorter. So long ago I don't remember which ones exactly.
