I usually play in 3 community bands and one brass band. Haven't had a rehearsal/performance in almost 4 months. Thursday was our first rehearsal in East Jordan, MI.

Only 12 folks showed up to the outside rehearsal. Of the 12, 3 were tubas. It was hard not to over play. Actually, we didn't try very hard.

Good to be back.

It's easier to get started with a small group. From within one of the bands I play in, I formed a quintet and we have already been playing two weeks. We rehearse in a public park (with the permission of the town), and whoever is walking by becomes our audience.

Had the first quintet rehearsal since early March last night. Don't expect any kind of band rehearsals before Aug/Sept.

I tried to get a quintet to sit around my pool and play and the tuba player (I play euph on the tbone part) would not do it. He's 80 and diabetic and his doctor actually called him and begged him to stay home. AZ is spiking now....it has already been a long haul and is going to continue to be. Any time groups start to get together, there is a spike. It seems like it's going to last forever, and maybe in terms of my lifespan, it will.

Two of us local tuba players and one euphonium make up 3/5 of the tuba/euphonium section in a nearby town's community band. We have been getting together the past couple of weeks. Trio music for that combination is pretty scarce so we pretty much have to arrange our own, but at least we're getting to play in an ensemble.

We- a symphonic orchestra- played in 'home office' Pachelbels Canon in D. We used earphones for the time measure.
41 musicians took part.

Have lots of fun with it wishes Ulli

Tuba/Euphonium ensemble starting up tonight. That takes care of Tuesdays and Thursdays!

We tend not to appreciate things until we lose them.
