lubricant for slides on your horn
Just curious, what do people recommend for lubricant on their slides?

Lanolin, mineral oil and a bit of beeswax, cooked together. Probably the basis for most non-synthetic slide lubes.
Now, this is where I'd wonder about the toxicity of stuff. Slide grease is more likely to get on your fingers during playing and get ingested. Can any of the other lubes be safely ingested?
While not tasty, lanolin, mineral oil and beeswax are all USP and used in compounded prescriptions. If ingested, they might not taste yummy, but they won't make you ill.
