After a recent service (ultrasonic cleaning and valve alignment + recork - yes I know I can do this myself but I'm honestly scared of mucking it up) I found one of my rotor caps loose. No big deal, but after tightening it to snug by hand the valve locked up. Loosening it frees the valve up. All the other screws (bearing plate, rotor arm, and the main bearing screw) are tight and snug, but the cover plate seems to need to be loose in order for the valve to function.

I don't trust the shop I sent it to to fix their own mistakes, so is there anything I can do myself to fix it?

Looks like all the rear cap screws are stripped (probably tech didn't know what they were for and tightened).

I'm gonna try mix and matching the caps, but beyond that I might need a new part if I can't get this loosed

Edit: the set screws are all 6-point torx screws, the included driver and my other torx drivers can't budge it due to stripping

I managed to get it so that the offending rear plate works with only a little bit of looseness (enough to get rid of the rattle) but I discovered that that particular cover gummed up all my valves, and any other cover gummed up the valve where the problem originated. I'm guessing that valve wasn't sitting correctly and so the tech didn't set up the back cover properly or something along those lines.

This is why I don't send **** locally to techs of unknown ability. My new to me Piggy I've disassembled and cleaned, as I did with a prior rotary horn, per Jeff Funderburk's most helpful YouTube videos Not everyone is fortunate to have great local techs. I certainly wish we all did.
