I just did a search for superintendents named Pelon and couldn't find one in Texas or any other state. You could do a better search than I can, Charlie, but this guy is a total fraud. At the least, you should report him.
Ebay... enough said.
Caveat emptor! (or in your case caveat venidor)

it looks like a glorified community college to me.
No need to knock the school, especially when one of our our own TubeNette's is the Tuba/Euph. teacher!

anyone know this school?
The Tuba-Euphonium teacher there is listed as Kent Eshelman
I believe this is the same Kent Eshelman who is a DMA student in tuba performance at Michigan State and recently written up in the ITEA News having just won the Midland-Odessa Symphony 2005 National Young Artist Competition.

Staff Name Position
Thomas Pelon Superintendent
Oh and by the way if this was the result of an E-Bay sale by all means report this twit as a non-paying member. Maybe he can take that and shove it up his superintendent a...
Also, shouldn't a "superintendent of schools" have a enough command of the English language to put together an e-mail that doesn't look like the work of a poor middle-school student?
I sure would like to be a super at a school district with an enrollment of 35!
This guy must be a lot smarter than he sounds to pull off a heist like thatQ

Charlie, keep your problems to yourself. This borders on defamatory, regarless of the language used.

all facts and no defamatory, you know not what you are talking about.
Maybe you're right. Not defamatory.

My take on this is that Charlie is within proper bounds, PROVIDED he can document the facts. If all of the "facts"(Charlie's description) are verifiable, then what is the problem? If the participants want to take him to court, he will be able to defend himself. As far as our part(Tubenet) is concerned, I believe his intention was simply a cautionary one. I have no problem with that. Each one of us can take it however we wish.
For all that Charlie is(just joking here, Charlie), I believe him to be an honest man(not joking here).

Charlie is an upfront person and a gentleman. He has earned the respect of hundreds of tuba and euphonium players in his many years with Brasswind and BM Music.
The lack of performance on the part of the buyer was excusable but was bad manners nonetheless.
The email that Charlie received was highly abusive and (if you read it) an insult to musicians and music teachers (a lot of tubenet BBS-er's) and not excusable. The buyer proved to be false in
1) representing himself as a superintendent, which apparently he is not, and
2) in knowingly listing a non-operating email address.
I think Charlie gave a peace offering to the buyer when he said something like "it looks like a lot of us are having a bad day." It would have been nice if it stopped there.
Some tube-netters (me included) may have jumped on the thread with a little "too much, too soon-itus" but it should in no way reflect badly on Charlie.

Well, I for one apologize for the whole direction this thread has taken. I don't think people were reacting to you, but as you indicated in your post, were instead reacting to the decidedly uncivil and derogatory nature of your father's correspondence with a fellow TubeNetter. It looks as though a few of us are having a bad day.

I understand. I respect my father, but I don't condone his response, and I wish he hadn't sent that. I simply wanted to defend his integrity and mine. I really don't want there to be hard feelings.
