Slippery tuba stand. Suggestions?

I have a K&M Tuba Stand to hold my large horn when I play. The cradle (see photo) is rubber. The SLIGHTEST bit of water (from the water key) will make the stand VERY slippery. The tuba slips very quickly and I'm afraid I might one day lose control and either hit my face or drop the horn. Has anyone else had this experience? If so, have you found a solution or do you have a stand you recommend? Thank you!

How about a layer or two of that no-slip shelf liner?

Maybe a terry cloth towel? Those are not really slippery, and it would absorb the moisture as well.

Use this:

I put this on both the bottom of my tuba and my tuba rest to preclude slipping.

I have that stand.
It is slippery.
My horn's bow moves unhindered and it feels like it's just about to fall out of my hands.
I bought some thin (~0.08") thick neoprene strip and heavy duct tape off Amazon.
Neoprene surface holds horn in position.
No more fear of horn taking flight.

How about gluing some indoor/outdoor carpeting to it?
