Pricing a Mirafone 4V rotary Euphonium

Post by bigboymusic »

I have a 4V rotary Euph (tenor tuba) dating to 1969. It plays beautifully but as usual, is cosmetically needing some bell work, but over all good playing condition. Tubas and regular Euphs I know, but I have NO IDEA where to start with the value of this instrument.

There are a few used Miraphone's on ebay which may be worth a look.
Such as : https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Tuba-Es-Mira ... SwFE5f4v3e

But the only one I would trust for a professional valuation would be Mr. Tuba in Wales (google search).
He is a Miraphone specialist and holds many used horns.

About 3 years ago I have bought one from the eighties in nearly perfect (overhauled) condition with a new (soft) case for Euro 1700 in Germany.
Perhaps you could take that as a reference, subtracting the costs of an overhaul and a bag/case.......???
Best,
Hubert
