For anyone who owns or has played one, what are your thoughts? Hows the low range? Does it carry well?

I play a Wessex berg, which is very similar to the Linz. It is in every respect a German sounding F tuba, but there is nothing wrong with that. Mine is pretty mouthpiece picky, but at the moment a PT-64 is a good choice for me. The low range is somewhat stuffy, but it is not unusable. The biggest issue with mine is the intonation. The intonation on it isn't great, and requires a lot of work to make it in tune. Many notes above F3 require alternate fingerings. The 6 valve Linz would probably be useful in this sense. I like my Berg, but I would recommend to try the horn for at least 30-40 minutes if you end up wanting to buy it.

I had a Linz here for about 2 months. In short order, it became my 'go to' F tuba. I cannot recommend this tuba highly enough. Why don't I still have it, you say? A dear friend of mine was looking for an F, so I moved it along to him.
