Im searching for a tuba mouth peice. Im a sophmore in college not studying tuba but still playing in groups and doing solo work. I seek a sharp tone for marching band, and a richer larger tone for solo/concert band. Any recomendations. I was looking at buying a Mirophone 29. Cut want to see what others use.

Welcome to the Tubenet, Agelaus! What type of horn are you playing?

It depends on the response you want from each instrument and may take different mouthpieces. If you have the time, take your instruments to a music shop that has a wide variety of mouthpieces. I have a 1922 Holton Mammoth that responses very well with a Bach 18, and a VMI 3301 that I hand picked a Marcinkiewicz N3S, at the factory here in Oregon, to get the sound and feel I wanted.
