Re: Mouthpiece rim cover
There are quite a number of plastic mouthpieces available on the market.

You can get metal mouthpiece with a screw-on plastic rim.

This does not directly answer your question but it's an alternative.

A refurb and replate is a good idea, and a reputable workshop will do it with better quality silver than the original manufacturer, also with some options for customising your mouthpiece. I did it with one of mine and the cost was less than getting a new mouthpiece of the same model

Try some clear fingernail polish. Heck dream large and use bright red.
Keep in mind that it is sort of "grabby" feeling. Try it. It costs very little. It is easy to remove. Just ask a female who paints her nails. She might could put it on for you and then remove it after you are done with your experiment.

You might consider a Lexan rim. I make them in all sizes and shapes, threaded for my mouthpieces.

Re: Mouthpiece rim cover
I highly recommend a Lexan rim. Very comfortable, and my mouthpiece (Blokepiece) weighs about half as much as it did originallyDoug Elliott wrote: ↑Thu Apr 01, 2021 11:50 am You might consider a Lexan rim. I make them in all sizes and shapes, threaded for my mouthpieces.
