ProTec C241 Gig Bag Quality?

Hey folks,
I remember ProTec tuba cases having luke warm reviews, in the past (insufficient padding seemed to be the biggest gripe).
I saw the C241 bag (22” bell), and wondered if they had developed a new, higher quality case to replace the old one. It looks like it is pretty well padded, from what I can see online.
Does anyone have experience with this case?

Unfortunately I do not have experience of Protec.
What I would share is that I looked at every gig bag on the market (well, almost) trying to find one of real quality.
No conclusion on that effort, so I ended up taking a leap of faith and buying one.
But I also bought some stiff upholstery foam and a can of upholstery adhesive spray.
In those places I wanted more protection I simply cut a foam insert, with a very sharp knife, and bonded it into place.
Has turned out well.

If it is a ProTec Platinum line, mine has been great. I'd steer clear of the gold line.

Yes. Anything other than the Platinum gig bag is more or less garbage. The platinum is great, however, at this time there is only ONE size, which is listed as being for a 3/4 sized tuba. (I seem to remember there being a 4/4 bag in the past, so maybe they have more than the one size available now.) It has internal velcro-attached blocks that can be adjusted to fit a number of horns. Study the dimensions carefully to see whether your tuba will fit. If it does, the bag is worth having.

The specific one you mentioned (C241) is in the Gold series and is not good. Straps pull loose, zippers break, seams tear, padding is not hefty at all, and the fit is too generic, so that it fits many tubas equally poorly.

I have 2 'Deluxe' large ProTec tuba bags -- one older version, and the other is the more modern one. The older one is made of some type of canvas/fabric material and is more 'floppy' than the modern one. The modern one is made of a stiffer nylon material I think
Anyway, I like them both -- they do the job for me and I haven't had any issues with them. But maybe that's cuz I tend to carry them by my side with the handle straps, and not wear it like a backpack.
So if you just need an economical, affordable tuba bag that does the job and aren't too rough on the bag, it is a good choice, imo.
But if you are extremely picky about tuba bags like John Fowler and Easy Mac, then expect to pay many hundred$ (or more) for a high-end bag more to your liking.

Extremely picky? Whatever. You just keep using your junk bags that, as you clearly stated in your post, need to be babied and should not be used as a backpack. Validate your choice, man.
However, please do not call others who give honest and accurate information about a product "extremely picky" for doing so. Protec Gold bags are an inferior product. Everything I stated is correct. I have owned over a dozen of these horrible bags, each taken in as part of a purchase or trade. They are horrible.
The Platinum series is quite good, but there is only the one tuba model. (I own two of the Platinum series bags for other instruments and I like them a lot.) If they were to offer two or three more tuba sizes of the Platinum series tuba bag I would gladly recommend them as they cost little and are very good. Until then, I will continue to be "extremely picky" about what I drop hundreds of dollars on to protect my horns.
If you did not intend to insult us for wanting to help the OP avoid making what might end up being an unhappy purchase by posting honest and accurate information then you need to re-read your posts prior to hitting the "Submit" button.
Thanks.

Geez. I've never been called "extremely picky" in reference to my bag preferences. I have a ProTec Platinum that I adore for my Alex 155 and a Wessex CC bag for my Alex 163. If there were a ProTec Platinum bag for my CC, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.
I don't claim that the gold bag is garbage, I've had issues with torn seams, stuck zippers, and poor ergonomics in the past.
To each their own. Yikes.

Looks like you took what I said personally, JUST because I disagree with you, Wade, um, 'The Elephant', I mean 'Easy Mac'
Are you really that rough on your bags that you have that many issues, then claim the bag is crap? Damn ....
Wonder if you would be honest and say the same about your Miraclone CC, as that tuba is about on par for a tuba what the large ProTec bag is for a bag -- they are "decent for the money"
