Brightest and Best

Post by tubiker »

In tonight's Prom Concert in London's Royal Albert Hall, a joint orchestra taken from The Julliard School in New York and the Royal Academy of Music in London have just kicked off with Aaron Copland's Fanfare for the Common Man - for the record it looks like the Tuba player is on a Besson EEb.

If you can get to the BBC web page at http://www.bbc.co.uk/proms/listen/

you can listen to the rest of the concert live as it happens:-

Vaughan Williams Symphony No 6
Berlioz Symphony Fantastique
Conducted by Sir Colin Davis

For anyone who doesn't know the Vaughan Williams - the Tuba part is a delightful challenge......

Its great to see the brightest and best of our young people putting on a show that would stand up with any comparison.

And for the record - Robinson Love is the Julliard Tuba player, and he is being interviewed live on BBC tv.

A great sounding guy
