Cheap BBb needed in Central OH

Postby gregsundt » Mon Nov 04, 2019 3:00 pm

A friend is serving in a church in the Columbus OH area, and they are in need of a really, really inexpensive BBb tuba. Think Conn 4-5J, Olds/Reynolds, etc. in good working condition.

A donation would be ideal, but they could probably find a donor to offset a modestly priced tuba.
"The only problem with that tuba is, it does everything you tell it to!" - Robert LeBlanc

When I end up bidding on and buying some of them, I slick them up really nicely and flip them, but...

 ...I've been seeing some really low-priced playable-as-they-are (yes, regular B-flat, but certainly not very pretty) tubas on eBay, lately.

no politics, please, but believe I'm seeing that the strong economy is triggering quite a bit of (finally, after a couple of decades of not) school surplussing/replacing, once again.

If you're still looking, I have a Conn 11J for sale - $500 and I can bring it to you in a couple weeks.

Was that the one I sold you a few years back? Was a pretty decent playing horn.

The same! Sure not a pretty horn, but a good player as you said. I just bought my first CC so this one could use a new home. OP, I have it on hold for a middle school band director right now, but if that falls through for whatever reason I’ll post again.

The scary part is you should have seen it before I worked on it  :)
