Re: WTB Kurath F tuba Gibag
The two horns do indeed use the exact, same bag. However, neighter horn was every super-common, so it is unlikely you will ever find a bag made for it that is not in use for one of these two instruments.
Torpedo, who bought out Cronkhite bags and now make them up in Minneapolis, have this pattern and made me a very nice one that I use nearly every day. But the price is high and the wait can be very long. I actively searched for a bag that would fit this tuba well for over a year and never found anything other than the excellent Cronkhite and the drawstring padded duffle bags of Altieri.
Cronkhite has a more or less permanent introductory offer of 25% off if you join their email newsletter list at the time of purchase. (You have to start the ordering process before the offer pops up.) This brings the price of a cordura bag down into the $600 range. Otherwise they are abut $800 for a cordura bag ($1300 for leather!)
Good luck. Mine fits the Kurath perfectly with excellent straps and padding. Workmanship is top-notch.
