Hello,

I don't know if a genuine Bach 24AW was ever made with a small shank to fit an old Besson tuba. If there was, I would like to buy one. I have a regular-sized shank one, but I prefer to use the right shank size. If you have one, or know that none was ever made, let me know. I live in Greece, so I would need to pay by PayPal and to know the shipping cost.

You can always special order anything. Many years ago I had Jim New when he was still at Kanstul make me one of their 18's, but with a 1.28 inch ID cup instead of the stock 1.26. I still play it on occasion. The issues are, of course, backlog, delivery time, and of course, cost. Alternatively, if you have a good tech, you can have the shank turned down, as I had Osmun do on a cornet mouthpiece to fit a British receiver. In the meantime, the Wick 3 (no letters) is very similar to a 24AW, even though the rim may be slightly narrower. If they have them in stock, Thomann carries the 3 (no letters) as a stock item. Also, I believe the Wick 3 was/is the successor to the original Besson mouthpiece you refer to in your other thread.
