Hello friends,

I realize it’s a long shot but I’m hoping someone out there has a Bach strativarious 180s 37 they are looking to part with and if so, please message me! Not looking for a new horn or new horn price. This is for my nephew who is still in HS and just advanced to first chair trumpet. He plans to play in college. Thank you!

I encourage you to shop around. Unless his professor/teacher is INSISTING on a Bach 180/37, there are many more, and I daresay better, trumpets out there. Remember that the basic technology and design, including all its idiosyncrasies, dates unchanged from @ 1950. And after the strike at Conn-Selmer, who owns Bach, some years ago that got rid of all the craftsmen with institutional knowledge, their build quality is suspect. There are so many other trumpets out there that have benefited from more modern acoustical research on how trumpets actually function, less idiosyncrasies, better tuning, more consistent tone from register-to-register, and so forth, you owe it to him to shop around.

Please peruse trumpetherald.com for good used instruments.
