I highly recommend checking out the Wessex Berg. New, they're in your price range. I've never liked an f tuba more.

Hi,
I haven't posted it yet, and it's $1k more than your budget, but I'm going to list my MW 45F which was built in the late 60's and is in great shape. Was owned by Torchinsky then. Thought I'd let you know since I saw your post.
