Post by Huffey14 »

Looking to buy a used PT-6 or 6P, or something of similar size and sound. Message or email me at huffey14@gmail.com" target="_blank if interested in making a sale.

Edit: I am also ready to purchase immediately, if that makes a difference on an offer.

My old horn with the Baer mods and PVAK already done. A year old this month and in great shape and a great player.

Still on the hunt. Also, has anyone had experience with the Mack/Wisemann PT-6P copy? Considering that as an option as well.

You should check out my Rudolph Meinl 4/4. It gives the pt6 a run for its money for sure, with a great germanight sound. 5 rotary valves with a 2nd valve kicker.

Let me know

I LOVE my Wisemann 900. Could not recommend this horn enough, especially if you buy from Tom at Mack Brass. I have played it side by side with 2 PT6P's and always left feeling like I had the better horn.

How long have you had it? I've heard some iffy things about the longevity of the Chinese horns.

I've had mine for over a year. The only dent it has ever received was a week ago when a woodwind player decided she needed to move my horn while I was in the restroom and rolled the bell a little... It was a pretty easy fix (i was able to do mostly myself by hand) and it didn't effect the resonance or tone like I was afraid it might. I use the horn mostly for teaching privately but I also feel comfortable gigging with it depending on the ensemble.

A lot of people complain about the threading on the valve caps. Yeah, it sucks but once you get use to it, it is not a very big deal. I've never had an issue or complaint about the pistons themselves but I regularly oil them and clean the casings.

Let me know if you have any other questions!
