Dillon Music is in New Jersey (not sure exactly where), I'd suggest giving them a call or even better, stopping in their shop and taking a look around. You'd probably have at least a few options there, and you'd get to try out the horn first.

I've been keeping an eye on Dillon's used stock, but they haven't had any BBb tubas for less than $3,000 for a while now.

Try calling, they might have more in house they haven't put up for sale yet (being repaired or waiting for stock to go down) or want to sell locally. Sometimes they have beater horns they don't even try to put on the website too.
