WTB Conn 25J Bell

Post by apurdum »

I came across a Larger Conn without a bell. I believe that it is a 24/25J I would prefer an upright bell, but would entertain either type of bell.

Thanks,
Andrew

Does anyone know of a replacement bell made by anyone that might fit this horn?

Kanstul makes a replacement upright bell that works very well. It costs around $1100 and it could take 2- 3 months for delivery.

If it has four upright/short stroke valves, it is a 24/25J If it has 3, it's a 20/21J.

The bells for all four horns are interchangeable so you might find a recording bell advertised as for a 20J easily- there were an awful lot of them built as compared with the 24j and the upright bell models.

You can look on eBay. The easiest was to find a specific thing on eBay is to set up an automatic search that will send you a mail when one appears. I know it's fun to browse, too, getting an e-mail might be faster.

The bell off a 20K sousaphone will work if you find one cheap enough. Looks a little funny on the horn with the 90 degree angle but is better than nothing.

There's a silver 24J bell and case for sale here in the for sale section.

Gotten really busy and kind of forgotten about this horn. So I am bumping this up to see if there are any new leads on a bell for a 20/24/25J Upright preferred, but either bell would be much better then none.
