Wanted old style American 6/4 BBb tuba

Post by Carl Mercer »

Hello,

I'm looking for an American old style 6/4 BBb tuba.

Something along the lines or Martin Mammoth, Holton 345, etc

As this would be the see as a section be tuba I'm not looking to spend a fortune, especially as I will have shipping to the UK to pay on top of the purchase. I'm not concerned about condition and would consider a project - the main thoroughfare by is that the valves are the okay.

Please get in the I have if you have something that may be of interest.

They pop up from time to time. Patience is key when searching for these horns. Search WIDE. But that Gnagey 6/4 currently available looks like a good horn!

Wow! Those 26 inch bells look massive on those horns. Love those huge beasts.

I forgot about that one: https://www.tubaexchange.com/collection ... 4-bbb-tuba
Based on the description and pictures (age, overhauled at some point, etc), it's possible I owned this tuba for a short time a few years ago. If it's the same one it's a beauty. It had belonged to a very old municipal band that had bought it new and stored it for much of its life. The valves were in great shape. Naked lady engraving, for those who find that collectable. I bought it solely to flip because of the price it was offered to me for, but I played it enough to appreciate it.
