Gig bag for 2165

Postby FatCat » Sat Dec 09, 2017 3:18 pm

Hi all,

I’ve recently purchased a 2165 without a soft case. As you would understand, carrying a hard case around can be quite a pain

Thus, I am seeking your wisdom regarding the purchase of a new bag. What brand/model would you recommend?

Thanks :tuba:

Cronkhite makes a bag that is tailored to the 2165. It fits *very* well, is very well made. It is also very spendy. But I can never understand why people spend many thousands of dollars on a tuba and then suddenly become miserly when it comes to the thing the horn lives in. I swear, some of the Freak Jury here would pack York #3 in a giant tube sock (with eighties-era stripes) if they could. What foolishness!

My recently added 2nd choice would be a Messina Case.

Thanks for your advice!

Which model should I select if ordering from the website? When I click on “extra large” which model do I choose given that there is no 2165 option?

Thanks again :D

If you want a top loading bag, consider Götz. I think they are the supplier for bags when you buy one from MW...?
