Miraphone Eb Alto HornAnyone with those neat Miraphone Eb Alto Horn with side action rotary valves, if you want to sell one, please let me know. I am on the lookout for one.
Re: Miraphone Eb Alto Horn
Left or right handed? I have one that's left handed, but I don't have the Eb crook, so it plays in F They were sold as Eb/F contraaltos, but I guess the left handed ones went to horn players who didn't care too much for the Eb option
Re: Miraphone Eb Alto HornWould you sell it? Does it run on trumpet fingerings or french horn fingerings?
Re: Miraphone Eb Alto Horn
It belongs to my wife, so I'll talk to her about it. She likes it, but we have talked about getting a traditional alto. We were going to play some at TMEA next month It's in F, so it it's the same as an alto, but one step higher. It's in the same key as the F side of the French horn, but remember that it's actually one octave higher. I guess it's kind of a hybrid between trumpet and French horn fingerings. My wife is a trumpet player and has no problem fingering it I was told that I could get a Eb slide made for it, I just never bothered. I understand that it actually plays better as an F instrument
Re: Miraphone Eb Alto HornThis is my wife's Facebook profile photo. She uses the instrument for Tuba Christmas
