WTB: A Good CC 5V Piston Tuba for College

Postby Bhigbee » Sat Apr 07, 2018 5:35 pm

I am in search of a good CC tuba, preferably pistons, for college next year. I will be a freshman tuba major and need to buy my own horn as soon as possible.

I am trying to stay at $6500 or below but depending upon inclusions and shipping costs/pickup options could potentially go a bit higher. Thank you.

Buddy Roger's has a brand new John Packer 379 CC in silver plate with hard case and mouthpiece, within your budget. If you're familiar with the Hirsbrunner HB-21, or have read reviews on TubeNet about this horn, you'll know what you're getting. Let me know if you're interested.

For that kind of budget, just get an Eastman and call it a day. Fantastic tubas, you won't regret it. There are a lot of great instruments out there they could be had for that price in the used Market. look for a miraphone 188. Can't go wrong with those either

Seeing how the price is right for you, I would not hesitate to recommend that you buy Sam's tuba. These are very fine instruments. I owned one a while back and I'm sorry I sold it.

I loved my Willson. Perfect for a college music major and you can have a long career with this horn after college.

I've got a BMB J-845SP (4/4 CC 4P + 1R) I'm looking to sell for $4600. I can take pictures of it for you sometime.
