Hello TubeNet,
I'm looking to buy in the future a gig bag for a Meinl Weston 182 F. It's a 3/4 F (Yamaha 621 sized), 14 inch bell, 32 inches tall. I'd rather not get an Altieri, I've had bad experiences with them. Recommendations for gig bags are also greatly appreciated.

Get a Cronkhite.
I used to have a Cerveny 653 (same size), and the Cronkite bag was very compact and quite svelte since it did not have the snap on accessory bag (which I've never liked).
I had a large tuba in a Cronkhite bag, too... but didn't like that one as much as the little tuba bag.

I'd love to get a Cronkhite, but I just can't justify spending 600+ dollars for a gig bag. If there's a used one out there for a reasonable price, I'll be sure to look into it.bort wrote:Get a Cronkhite.

Oh right, I forgot about the massive price increase. When I bought mine from Glenn in 2010, I think it cost about $350 + shipping. Adjusting for inflation... still far less than $600.
BTW, it looks like the bag you want sells at BBC for $471, if that helps.

I checked with Mr. Fedderly (who so happens to be my teacher), and it's out of stock. In the future, I'll try for a Messina Cover, I've heard good things about them.
