modding a 20j

Anyone here ever put a shorter bell on one of these and cut it to CC? I have heard of 2, possibly 3 cut 20j tubas.

That is cool. I went to the "Frankentubas" post and saw that cut conn 20j Sam did with rotors that went to Brazil. The king bell with a big Conn male tenon is a good idea. I might use that idea for the bell. I think I will keep it in BBb, but getting some more room to play with as far as the total length will help fit different valves and a leadpipe, I think.
