I've used both. The Z-60 with all the 'goodies' does everything I need to do with brass. The hot rod guys would have no use for the Z-60 since all they want the rollers for is to form wheel wells and stuff like that out of sheet steel. If y-ou already have a Z-60... spring for some of the optional tools like the power-discs and the knee tools for working on sousaphone and bottom bows.
The english wheel is way too stiff for brass and will end up making a lot of stuff that takes hours to fix. Also... anenglish is stiff enough to actually thin out brass.... not really what you want for restoration work. If you simply want to roll material... buy one of the cheap Harbor Freight rolling mills.
Z-60 or English Wheel?
