Best glue for pearl valve button insert

Postby deputysgttuba » Tue Dec 04, 2018 10:52 pm

Good Evening,
My third valve pearl finger button insert came off at rehearsal tonight and I need to know what adhesive to use to glue it back. The horn is a nine year old PT-20. I have E 6000 glue on hand. Would that work or should I purchase something else ?

I use hot glue, because it isn't brittle, and is flexible.

I don't use a hot glue gun...I use a small torch to melt some hot glue off the end of the stick into the pearl cup, and then to heat the finger button to pool up the hot glue really well for a better bond to the finger button.

If you use too much, it is easy to peel off, but - otherwise - just avoid using too much.

Have a piece of cardboard or newspaper off the the side to set down the molten glue stick and avoid a mess.
