tenor instrument in the key of B ...

Postby vintage7512 » Fri Feb 08, 2019 1:29 pm

I was wondering if anybody has heard of such a thing, or had one made. Not in Bb, BBb, F, Eb, but a trombone or french horn sized instrument keyed in B. If not in existence, how much to have one made?

Do you have a hack saw? Sounds like a DIY job to me.

More than a few of the old Czech marching baritons (oval style) are "high pitch", and their "open" pitch (labeled "B♭") is right at (ref. A=440) B♮.

Mrs. bloke has a very old Conn baritone saxophone that plays at this pitch level (re-pad begun and set aside), satin silver, with its original hard case, if anyone might be interested. (...perhaps, someone who plays tons of gigs or garage sessions on bari sax with an R&B band...??)
