Tuba (or NOT a tuba)

Post by Dan Schultz »

That is the question:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... &rd=1&rd=1

I've emailed the seller twice and have received no response. Do I stand corrected?... or does this horn appear to be a euphonium?... NOT a tuba. Secondly, the valve section looks like B & M. Any opinions out there in TubeNetLand?

Image opinion: NOT tuba
(look at last photo with hand shown bottom bow for scale)
Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?

It is a euph. Probably from the 80s, but I'm no guru. Based on the scarcity of Mirafone pistons back then, I would guess they were buying from B & M, as were many.

I'd probably agree with bloke for this one... the bottom bow does look way to small to be a tuba..but it seems a bit large for a euph, so maybes its an eefer?

Well, even looking at the case the guy has it in, it looks too small to be a tuba...but our eyes can deceive us...

And uh...maybe it's sorta both: A tenor tuba! Too big for a Euph., too small for a tuba...
I think I might end up as a grumpy old man when I get old...
