According to my dictionary:

nadir, n.
3. Extended uses. a. The lowest or worst point (of something); the place or time of greatest depression, degradation, etc.

According to Google Earth, these guys have been around for a while. It's the first I've ever heard of them, though.

Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?
